Helenium, also known as Sneezeweed, is a perennial native to easten North America. Helenium is a great perennial for the late-season garden as it provides weeks of splashes of color, from early summer to early fall, when many other perennials are starting to fade. The name  "sneezeweed" is derived from its ancient use as dried leaf snuff, which was inhaled to help sneeze and rid the body of evil spirits. This cultivar series offers a fast-growing, upright habit of 14-18" tall and wide, with orange flowers blooming from summer through fall while being perennial in zone 5-9. It flourishes as a low-maintenance, deer resistant plant in full sun with moderate water, attracting bees and butterflies to the landscape.
