Native to North America, Heuchera, also known as Alum Root or Coral Bells, is an evergreen perennial with dark purple, green, and silver variegated foliage and dark pink blooms in summer. It has a mounding habit of 10-12" tall and 12-18" wide and performs well in part sun to full shade if low maintenance is required. It is hardy from zones 4-9. If in full sun, soil must remain moist to sustain a successful planting and avoid sun scorch. With little maintenance, this plant tolerates drought and heat, resists deer, and attracts pollinators. Coral Bells is versatile and equally well-suited to rock gardens, individual containers, landscape borders, mass plantings, and mixed containers.
Note: Autumn Shades and Fresh Green are Heucherella (Foamy Bells) which is a hybrid cross of Heuchera and Tiarella. Although their height is about the same, their width is about half of that of regular Heuchera.
