Veteran is the most cold-hardy peach we offer and my personal favorite for taste. The sturdy, late, pale pink blossoms are resistant to frost damage, even in full flower! It produces abundant and reliable harvests of medium-to-large, yellow fruits graced with a soft red blush. The yellow, freestone flesh is somewhat coarse and easy to peel, making it particularly good for canning, drying and freezing. Zones 4-9, ripens late August.
