The Methley plum tree is a Japanese plum variety which is one of the favored and bears heavy crops consistently. In fact, these trees produce delicious purplish-red plums with radiant white flowers in the early spring. This cold hardy plum tends to ripen in September and is a freestone variety.  Not only is the fruit good for eating fresh, but also for canning and drying because of its firm texture as well as juicy and sweet flavor. Hardy to zones 4-9.
